The 14-inch MacBook Pro is a new size class that sits comfortably between the 13-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro. The edge-to-edge display, 0.61-inch thick chassis, and 3.5-pound weight make for a small yet powerful machine.

The M1 Pro and M1 Max are not only more powerful than the M1, but they also have better capabilities too. The latest MacBook Pros can connect multiple external displays over Thunderbolt and HDMI, whereas the M1 13-inch MacBook Pro could only have one external monitor.

The M1 chip brings up to 3.5x faster CPU performance, up to 6x faster GPU performance, and up to 15x faster machine learning capabilities compared to the Intel chips used in prior-generation machines.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro measures 12.31 by 8.71 by 0.61 inches, and weighs 3.5 pounds. It’s actually the same height as the 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro while being about 0.34 inches wider, 0.35 inches deeper, and half a pound heavier. However, the 14-inch model feels much more solid than the 13-inch model. Compared to the older 15-inch MacBook Pro, the 14-inch model is a lot smaller.
